Raising and Processing Chickens

We wish everyone could know the accomplishment of raising their own chickens. We enjoy the breakfast provided by our laying birds and dinners provided by our meat birds. We would like to walk you through the 8 weeks it takes to raise a beautiful flock of meat birds and then demonstrate how you can prepare that flock for the freezer in your backyard with a few simple tools. We explore the anatomy of the bird and talk about the ways you might use the lesser appreciated parts. We hope to impress upon you the simplicity of raising and butchering chickens to feed yourself and your family.
